The inaugural SHAMROCKS COMMUNITY coaching event took place at St Michael’s on Sunday April 9, welcoming the good people of AHRC NYC.

AHRC NYC is one of the leading organizations which supports people with developmental and intellectual disability in the New York area. Our closest location is their Sunnyside HQ and they sent a group of soccer players to enjoy a coaching seminar under the tutelage of Technical Director Kevin Grogan.

Coach Grogan’s Shamrocks Community soccer clinic lasted for an hour and constituted light warm-ups, maneuvers, mini games and several other drills.

“The participants enjoyed the soccer clinic very much and expressed that they would love to have more in the future,” said Tashi Choepel, Community Support at AHRC Sunnyside.

“AHRC’s current focus is on integrating our people within the local area and Shamrocks Community offered a great platform to reach this goal.”

“They really enjoyed the coaching and we loved working with Tashi and his crew!” said Kevin Grogan.

“Any opportunity to engage with our community is very welcome and this first event was a memorable experience for everybody involved. We look forward to future similar events and we are delighted to be associated with AHRC Sunnyside.”
