Rocks Reserves and Over 30s bidding to maintain momentum

SUNDAY SCHEDULE

CSL Division 2
Sporting Astoria v NY Shamrocks, Randall’s Island 74, 8pm
CSL Division 2 Reserves
Sporting Astoria v NY Shamrocks, Randall’s Island 74, 6pm
CSL Over 30s Division 1
Manhattan Kickers Premier v NY Shamrocks, East River Park Field D, 11am

The Shamrocks will be looking to bounce back from last weekend’s defeat to the Ukrainians when they take on Sporting Astoria on Sunday evening (Randall’s Island 74, 8pm).

Rocks coach Glen Wrafter will be missing a couple of key players through suspension but Astoria have only won once since the opening day of the season and have endured a tricky return to the CSL.

Their reserves have enjoyed a better campaign so far and are third in the table, seven points behind Stevie Doyle’s team who will be hoping to clinch their sixth league win in a row before a two-week break.

The Over 30s face a tough match-up at Manhattan Kickers Premier who are the division leaders in the ‘West’. Paddy mc Carry’s will be keen to make it eight wins from eight to maintain their grip on the East where they are five points clear at the top.

The women’s team will enjoy a well earned rest after their big win last Sunday night.
