Shane Moore (pictured right) opened the scoring after 30 minutes for Glen Wrafter’s first team before Mike Stone made it 2-0 before half-time.

A Mohamed Fofana penalty brought his tally to seven for the season and after an own goal from the visitors, Santiago Rigby wrapped up the scoring with his sixth of the season.

There was less joy elsewhere – the reserves long trip to East Hampton FC yielding a frustrating 1-0 defeat to the relative newcomers to the Long Island Soccer League.

The league leading reserves embarked on the 200-míle round trip with confidence but in tough conditions, an early defensive error cost the Rocks dearly.

Stevie Doyle’s team rallied and battled well, their opponents going down to ten men in the second half but ultimately it was to no avail.

Alex Berne

Meanwhile in the Marth Cup, Barnstonworth Premier beat Paddy Mc Carry’s Over 30s 2-1 at Randall’s Island on Sunday night. Alex Berne (pictured right) was on the mark once again for his side.

The Shamrocks Women were overturned 5-0 by Smoking Aces at Lief Ericson in Brooklyn.

It will be back to league action next weekend with newcomers NY Supreme coming to St Michael’s Playground to take on the firsts and reserves (kick offs – 1pm/11am).

The NY Supreme first team have a record of two wins, two losses and a draw so far in the league while their reserves have enjoyed an impressive start to the season with four wins and just one defeat.

The Over 30s host NY Greek Americans at Randalls Island Field 75 (8am) and the women’s team will be in Williamsburg to take on Astoria at 10am.
